Important Dates for Online Business Plan Competition

Last date for Submission of Online Business Plan: 13th November 2020

Screening: 14th-15th November 2020

Pre-Final Round: 19th-21th November 2020

Finale: 25th November 2020

The MZU BioNEST Online Business Plan Competition is intended to attract, identify, and nurture bio-entrepreneurs working on novel and scalable business ideas with significant societal impactThe participants compete for attractive cash prizes, incubation support and collaboration/mentoring opportunities. Due to the adversities associated with the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, this year the competition would be conducted online.

Applications is sought from but not limited to the following domains

  1. Agri Biotech and Allied
  2. Aromatic and Medicinal Products
  3. Bio-Fuels and Bio-Fertilizers
  4. Bio-Prospecting and Environmental Management
  5. Food and Nutraceuticals
  6. Healthcare & Biological Sciences
  7. Natural Fibre and Cane
  8. Social Impact and Social Network
  9. Waste Management

The participation is divided into two categories – the Open Category which is open to all Entrepreneurs, Individuals, Start-ups and established Companies and the Academic Category which consists of teams/individuals who are still enrolled in full-time courses but open to starting their own venture once they finish their courses. Students may also send their application in the Open Category.

Awards

The participation and cash prizes is categorized into the following

Open Category: open to all Entrepreneurs, Individuals, Start-ups and established Companies. First Prize Rs. 30000/- and two runner up prizes of Rs. 10000/- each.

Academic Category: Team/individuals who are still enrolled in full-time courses (UG, PG, Research etc). First Prize Rs. 20000/- and two runner up prizes of Rs. 7500/- each.

The fiscal incentive is intended to provide a small amount of financial support to develop idea into a prototype and final product. Apart from the fiscal incentives, Non-Fiscal Incentives will include Incubation and IP support from MZU BioNEST, Consultation Support from the Mentors
